Tucker Suspended for Steroid Usage
Ryan Tucker, the offensive tackle for the Cleveland Browns, was suspended today for the first four games of the football season. Apparently Tucker was found violating the NFL’s steroid usage policy. Anyone that happens to be a Browns fan is probably aware that Tucker was out for part of last season with what was referred to as an undisclosed mental disorder.
Now that Tucker is healthy and ready to play he has been suspended. He will return to the Browns roster on October 1 after the Browns play the Baltimore Ravens in their fourth season game. Tucker is taking his suspension like a man though or as best as he can. He apologized to family and friends and stated that in an attempt to make a comeback he took a banned substance. He plans to go through with his suspension and put it behind him.
The suspension minus any pay begins on September 1. Until then, Tucker will be able to participate in team activities including training camp and preseason games. Tucker joined the Browns as a free agent in 2002. Prior to that he played with the Rams where he won a Super Bowl ring. Tucker is concentrating on gaining back the respect of his teammates. Meanwhile, they are looking forward to his comeback. Tucker is considered to be an integral part of the team. It looks like the Browns could see a shaky beginning to the season without the rock that normally steadies their offensive line.
