Iron Mike should run for Office
I know I said before that I wished Mike Tyson would go into hiding for a while, but I’ve reconsidered Iron Mike has become the cunsummate entertainer for me. The man who brought us countless thrilling knock-outs in the squared circle, then the 1992 alleged rape, then had Evander Holyfields ear for an evening snack, then the misdimeanor assault of 1999 has checked himself into rehab.
That’s right, after pleading not guilty on felony drug and paraphernalia possession charges, Iron Mike has checked himself into rehab to get help with his “various addictions”. I wish I could have a constant feed to the Iron Mike Tyson Channel, a Fox or VH1 reality show has got to be in the works, if they’ll do a show with Sizemore and Bonaducci they should be foaming at the mouth to talk to Tyson.
In late December in Arizona police pulled over Tyson for driving erratically. Officers found bags of cocaine in Tyson’s pocket and another bag inside a cigarette pack inside Iron Mike’s Beamer. Officers reported that the former champ informed them that he uses cocaine whenever he can get it.
A pre-trial hearing is scheduled for later this month, if convicted on all charges Tyson could spend the better part of a decade in the slammer.
If Tyson can be convincing enough to evade the drug charges after having been found with cocaine on his person and in his car, admitting his frequent use to police and doing a stint in rehab for addiction problems, I don’t see why he couldn’t convince the general public to vote him into office.
